LOTUS SUITE
With a view of the tea estates across from Apa Villa’s fields and paintings of Southeast Asian scenes hung on the walls, this spacious suite invokes nostalgia for a tropical paradise of old. Its colour scheme echoes its lotus bedspread. A chaise lounge opposite the queen bed and a private cushioned enclave make the suite ideal for reclining and conversing with company.
Originally the master bedroom of the owner, this spacious suite gets its name from the hand painted hibiscus motif bedspread on its Queen-sized bed. Its main attraction is a huge balcony offering a spectacular view of Illuketiya village’s rice fields while being encircled by towering trees that display a plethora of fascinating visitors and inhabitants, all of which can even be enjoyed during breakfast and tea which can be served to the balcony. Its spacious bathroom has twin basins, shower, bidet, a wall sized mirror and is decorated with Turkish Tiles.

CITRONELLA SUITE
Although the queen bed stretches herself out to take up most of the bedroom, this is made up for by the suites private terrace, equipped with a stretched deck chair and a set of chairs and table at which guests can enjoy their private piece of garden, overlooking the jackfruit trees.
The suites vibrant palette mimics the tanginess of citronella. An en suite bathroom has a large closet, shower and twin vanity basins. Air conditioning is optional.
WATER LILY SUITE
This is the most intimate of the Suites. The smaller room contains a grand four poster bed, and its furnishings include a Dutch-style cabinet and an antique mirror stand. There is an En suite bathroom with shower. The window offers a view down a Heliconia laden path. This suite makes an ideal single room.
POND HOUSE GINGER SUITE
At the edge of a large lotus pond, this suite along with the Jasmine is an island unto itself, built away from the main house with its own access from the gateway. Inside the air conditioned room is the estate’s largest four poster bed and its most luxurious bathroom equipped with twin showers open to the sky. Meals can be taken in the main house or the suite’s open living room. The front porch is equipped with two reclined long-chairs and a swing overlooking the lotus pond from which evenings can be spent watching its myriad visitors: fish, water monitors, herons, and array of colourful birds.
POND HOUSE JASMINE SUITE
This suite overlooks a large lily pond, and along with the Ginger Suite forms its own separate structure away from the main house. The air condition room features two embellished antique Dutch four-poster beds, and the room is furnished with a wardrobe cupboard and dressing table. The adjoining bathroom has twin glass washbasins and two open air showers. The pond provides plenty of entertainment in the form of the host of birds, fish, and reptiles that call it home, all of which can be viewed from the swing and chairs on the porch overlooking the pond.
